We’re getting ready to launch a brand-new AI-powered data science project: GRAFFAIN.
But before I tell you what it is, here’s how we got here.
Over the past year, we've been exploring how large language models can support education and psychometrics.
With Elif Kübra Demir, we've developed tools that automatically generate high-quality multiple-choice test items.
With Dr. Tolga Demir, we've worked on delivering meaningful, AI-generated feedback on student essays.
And now, we’re thrilled to welcome Yasemin Kahyaoglu to the team, who brings even more strength and insight to the work ahead.
So what is GRAFFAIN?
In short, it's a modular, AI-assisted platform designed to help researchers and professionals make the most of qualitative data. The Beta version is launching very soon—and we believe it has something to offer to:

Here’s what GRAFFAIN can do:
• Analyze qualitative data with AI and visualize the findings

• Do all of this with an eco-conscious mindset—using lightweight, pre-trained language models
But GRAFFAIN is more than just a tool.
It’s a community-driven and open project, built with no external funding, no corporate sponsors, and no institutional backing. We're working hard to make it available to everyone—for free.
That’s why your feedback during the Beta phase means the world to us. And if you want to contribute, you can even build your own modules or join our volunteer team and shape the project with your name on it.
GRAFFAIN is independent. And it will grow with your support.
